Purcell Parker’s team of 14 solicitors and advocates deal with a range of criminal offences in Coventry, Leamington and Wolverhampton as well as Birmingham including motoring offences, fraud and Very High Costs Cases (VHCC).
Appearing at Crown Court
One of our defence solicitors, Charmaine Robinson, was recently granted her Higher Rights of Audience which enables her to appear in the Crown Court as a solicitor advocate.
A solicitor advocate is a qualified solicitor who carries out additional training and examinations enabling them to specialise in higher court work, like a barrister.
Charmaine, who qualified as a solicitor in 2010, joined the firm in 2015. “Being granted Higher Rights of Audience enables me to take on a wider range of cases and see them through from start to finish,” she explains. “This has significant advantages for the client as they deal with one legal representative who knows the details of their case really well.”
Appearing at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court
Shivali Patel, who began working at Purcell Parker in 2013, also recently qualified as a solicitor, having gained significant experience in the firm’s Crown Court department. Shivali is now also representing clients at the Magistrates’ Court as an advocate, and hopes to move on to practice in the Crown Court, having already obtained her Higher Rights of Audience.
